Aniek runs a varied advisory and litigation practice concerned, among other things, with employment law, contract law and general conditions, insurance and liability law, international trade law and transport law.
She represents (secondment) enterprises, employers and employees active in the inland waterway, construction and transport sectors. In addition to shipping companies, this also involves businesses that produce, deliver and repair specialist products (such as navigation systems, engine components and ship interiors) for the shipping sector. Aniek draws up (employment) contracts and advises and litigates concerning dismissals, non-compete clauses and employees who are ill. Furthermore, Aniek advises insurance companies and insured parties regarding coverage disputes and questions of liability.
Aniek studied at Radboud University in Nijmegen, obtaining Masters degrees in both International and European law and in Dutch law, with a major in trade law. In the context of her Masters in International and European law, she studied for half a year at Katholieke University in Leuven, Belgium. She wrote her theses about European regulations concerning federal support and about the insurance intermediary's duty of care. Aniek worked in a legal clinic during her studies.
Aniek was admitted in 2010 and has worked at Van Dam & Kruidenier Advocaten since March 2015. Prior to this, she worked for more than four years as an attorney at a medium-sized office in Rotterdam.
Aniek is a member of Jurismus, the youth section of the international network of attorneys' offices Eurojuris, Legally Young’R and Young InSurance. In addition, Aniek has played on the Rotterdam Bar Combination, the Rotterdam Bar's mixed corporate hockey team, since 2011.
