Van Dam & Kruidenier is one of the oldest law firms in the district of Rotterdam. Our roots lie in inland shipping, a branch of industry that we have been advising for almost a 100 years. But times have changed: wooden sailing boats have been replaced by ultramodern ships representing multimillion investments.

Van Dam & Kruidenier has responded to the constant change in demand for legal services: where before collisions were the mainstay of our practice (an area to which we are still fully dedicated), today our practice is much more complex, diverse and frequently cross-border. Shipbuilding, supplies, financing, insurance, transport, transfers of undertakings, personnel problems, but also public law licences, European regulations and (economic) criminal law: just a random selection from the wide range of issues that we handle.

The broadening of our practice has brought a more varied clientele: besides the traditional companies in the maritime sector such as ship's owners, carriers, freights, shipyards, ship's suppliers, brokers, we have been advising companies from all walks of industry for some time.

Our practice has become increasingly international, which is why we have long since been a member of the renowned international network 'Eurojuris'. Through this network we can serve our clients even better.

Without renouncing its roots, Van Dam & Kruidenier has evolved into an all-round firm.
